General Surface Prep

Tile must be firmly attached and cured prior to grouting; please wait at least 24 hours for any dry set mortar meeting ANSI A118.4 standards, and at least 48 hours when using pre-mixed adhesives. Remove spacers and any loose materials from joints. Pre-sealing porous tile or stone with an appropriate TileLab® or Aqua Mix® sealer may be necessary to prevent grout staining. Surfaces and materials should be maintained at a temperature above 50° F (10° C) or below 100° F (38° C) for 72 hours.

Health Precautions

Contains Petroleum Distillates. If ingested, do not induce vomiting and call a physician immediately. Use with adequate ventilation. Nonflammable. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY.

Limitations to the Product

  • Porous stone can be stained by grout; follow directions in Surface Preparation.
  • Do not use in steam rooms, areas exposed to prolonged water exposure or underwater.

Application of Product

Stir grout prior to application. Lightly dampen absorptive, porous tile with clean, cool water. Holding a rubber grout float at a 45° angle, force grout diagonally into joints ensuring joints are completely filled. Remove excess grout using edge of float held at a 90° angle. Work on an area about 5 to 10 square feet at a time. Shaping joints and cleanup must begin immediately using a damp, small pore, grout sponge in a circular motion. Use clean water and sponge, changing water frequently. Wait 4 hours before removing haze from tile surface with a soft, dry cloth. If a haze still exists after 24 hours, remove it with TileLab® Heavy-Duty Stripper & Cleaner. Do not grout when temperature is below 50°F (10°C).

For rejuvenating old grout:

Clean old grout joints thoroughly with TileLab® Sulfamic Acid Cleaner or Aqua Mix® Sulfamic Acid Crystals, following instructions on product data sheets and packaging. Allow grout joints to dry overnight. Apply new grout on top of old grout according to application instructions. Allow it to dry for two hours and then remove any haze remaining on the surface with a soft, dry cloth.

Drying Time

24 hours.

Cleaning of equipment

Clean tools and hands with water before material dries.
