Inventory Control Analyst (Bell, CA)

Custom Building Products is currently seeking an Inventory Control Analyst for our Bell, CA facility. This position will be responsible for coordinating inventory cycle counts, reports, enter adjustments and ensure inventory levels meet needs for planned production runs. Evaluates inventory levels at other plant locations to ensure efficient distribution of products to satisfy customers. Analyzes inventory levels, production speed and product demand to determine reorder levels which will ensure product availability and minimize inventory cost.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

  • Open monthly manufacturing orders for plant production requirements
  • Create new bill’s of materials for new products and implement bill of material changes as changes occur to existing products
  • Process month end inventory counts for raw materials and packaging
  • Transact inventory adjustment in perpetual inventory as required
  • Reconcile daily inventory balance report discrepancies between J.D. Edwards and warehouse management systems
  • Process stock transfer of finished goods between western region plants
  • Monitor production department work order status for closure in J.D. Edwards and warehouse management system
  • Process month end inventory and reconcile physical inventory variances versus system inventory

 Offsite Manufacturing – Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze FG inventory levels & create production plan for toll vendors
  • Release new purchase orders for toll vendors
  • Serve as primary point of contact with assigned toll vendors regarding production requirements and reporting
  • Provide raw material requirements and timing information to meet production needs
  • Open manufacturing orders for all offsite toll manufactured products
  • Retrieve toll vendors documents form toll mfg sites
  • Transact all purchasing receipts of all production ad reported by toll vendors
  • Execute inventory stock transfers of all finished goods shipped by toll vendors   
  • Coordinate product delivery with traffic department
  • Process month end inventory and reconcile physical counts against perpetual system frozen inventory
  • Investigate inventory variances of materials at toll manufacturing location
  • Implement process improvements to reduce inventory variances at toll vendors
  • Minimize inventory loss due to shelf life limits
  • Reconcile receipt discrepancies with toll vendor process reports
  • Monitor production and shipment progress of toll vendors against monthly plan
  • Plan raw materials shipments to toll vendors as needed to support production plan   

Requirement Skills

  • Minimum 5 years work experience in inventory/ production control position, preferably in a manufacturing/ distribution environment   
  • 2 year degree in business or related field.
  • Must be a self starter able to faction in a busy work environment
  • Previous experience purchasing / planning raw materials & chemicals helpful
  • Previous experience production / inventory planning for multiple manufacturing sites helpful
  • CPI< APICS background or certification helpful
  • Good computer skills in office applications required. Excellent excel skills a must including use of V look up and pivot tables
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational and follow up skills a must
  • Excellent analytical skills and able to quickly change plans as business conditions dictate
  • Previous experience using J.D. Edwards
