Application of Product

Measure the thickness of the tile tile thickness to make sure that the profile will provide proper protection; the upper edge of the profile must always be at the same height or lower (up to 1/32" lower) than the adjacent tile edges. Check the profile for damage – use only undamaged profiles. Use suitable clamps, saws or cutting devices as well as personal protective equipment for cutting and deburring the profile.

Spread thin-set mortar on the substrate where the profile is to be placed with a notched trowel. Place the stamped fitting strip of the profile into the thin-set mortar and align with the predetermined edge, then cover stamped fitting strip completely with additional thin-set mortar. Make sure to embed the profile in fresh setting material; retrowel or refresh if it has skimmed over prior to the installation of the profile. The tile adjacent to the fitting strip must be placed so it is completely embedded into the thin-set mortar over the stamped fitting strip. The tile should be even or slightly above the edge of the profile. The space between the profile and adjacent tile should be 1/16" - 1/8" wide. Make sure that the joint between the floor covering and the profile is completely filled with grout.

Clean away any mortar or grout residue from the sides of the profile immediately, using clean water and a non-abrading sponge pad or cloth. Do not allow the mortar or grout to dry on the surface of the profile.

Store in a cool dry area.  Protect from damage that may bend or twist the profile.

Product Maintenance

Use TileLab Grout and Tile Cleaner or Aqua Mix Concentrated Stone and Tile Cleaner and a sponge or soft cleaning cloth to clean the surface of the profile. Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they will scratch the surface.
